Most of the marketing principles that apply to
any physical market are also true for eBay. Every seller in the market has
merchandise that they want to sell for as much profit as possible. Buyers, on
the other hand, are looking for items that they want to pay for, but they want
the lowest prices. Compromises are made on both parts and some sellers manage
to get rid of their products, others don't.
When you list a product on eBay you certainly
want to be one of the sellers who has buyers beg them for more products. There
are several elements that should be considered in order to maximize one's
profit.
Start with a good price. Of course you
want to make a lot of money real fast, but most of the times it doesn't work
that way. Compare your offer with the competition and decide on the best price.
Maybe a 5% lower price will get you a higher frequency of sales, which, in
time, will compensate for the lower price.
